If you’ve ever visited New Orleans, it’s likely you’ve heard about the history and culture of the city—including the iconic Café du Monde and its pillowy, warm beignets doused in powdered sugar. Luckily, you don’t need to buy a plane ticket to sample some tasty beignets, because we’ve discovered an easy (like, shockingly easy) way to recreate the experience in your own kitchen with just a few ingredients.

 

All you need to start is one can of Pillsbury™ refrigerated biscuits, canola oil for frying and, most importantly, lots and lots of powdered sugar! Here’s how you can enjoy easy beignet-style doughnuts at home.

How To Make Biscuit Beignets

First, start by heating your canola oil. In a deep fryer or heavy saucepan, heat 2 inches of oil until it reads 350°F on your candy or deep fry thermometer.

Separate the biscuit dough into 10 biscuits; cut each biscuit into quarters.
Meanwhile, separate the biscuit dough into 10 biscuits; cut each biscuit into quarters.
Fry the biscuit quarters, in batches, in the hot oil for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.
